Fleet Landing is introducing a quarterly Friends of our Fish series highlighting our local seafood partners, giving each farmer/purveyor an opportunity to visit the restaurant and interact with guests at the Raw Bar (as well as tableside) to learn more about their product and impact on the local ecosystem.
Join us for the first installation in our series, where we’ll be featuring Andrew Jones from Bird Island Oyster Company!
Bird Island Oyster Company, established in 2023, is the passion project of Lowcountry native, Andrew Jones. Drawing from a deep-seated connection to the water, Andrew has dedicated his life to cultivating distinctive oysters from the pristine waters of Bird Island. Prior to founding his own company, he spent five years honing his skills as a harvester, which laid the foundation for Bird Island Oyster Company’s commitment to sustainability and quality. The company’s oysters, affectionately known as “Birds” are wild-grown and handpicked singles served on the half shell. Harvested from the Beaufort/Broad River area, these oysters are celebrated for their marshy brine and unique flavor profile. Andrew’s dedication to sustainable practices ensures the health of his oyster beds, reflecting his belief that each oyster tells a unique story of the waters they come from. It’s also what made him a perfect partner for Fleet Landing when we opened our Raw Bar in 2024!
Andrew will be on site at Fleet Landing Thursday, March 20th from 4-6pm to speak with guests about his beautiful oysters that are one of our staff favorites. Purchase a half-dozen Bird Island Oyster Company oysters ($20) and receive a complimentary of Lowtide Brewing Three Fleets to the Wind beer. Dressed oysters and all of our regular menu items will also be available.
